Summer in the New Jersey Shorebreak
On a Tuesday evening this past June, despite my hatred for traffic and crowds, I road tripped out to Long Beach, NY. If you're from the tri-state area, you know what a drive from the Jersey Shore to Long Island can turn into. So there must have been a really good reason. World famous wave, surf, and ocean photographer Clark Little was hosting a screening of a new documentary, Shorebreak by Peter King, of which he was the subject. And of course he would be there. For almost an hour, I watched clip after clip of the man throwing himself into double-overhead waves all over the north shore of his native Oahu. (see the trailer here: Shorebreak Trailer ). I got to meet the man himself and it really got me stoked about spending some time in the water over the summer and trying to capture some wave images.
