Summer in the New Jersey Shorebreak

On a Tuesday evening this past June, despite my hatred for traffic and crowds, I road tripped out to Long Beach, NY. If you're from the tri-state area, you know what a drive from the Jersey Shore to Long Island can turn into. So there must have been a really good reason.  World famous wave, surf, and ocean photographer Clark Little was hosting a screening of a new documentary, Shorebreak by Peter King, of which he was the subject. And of course he would be there.  For almost an hour, I watched clip after clip of the man throwing himself into double-overhead waves all over the north shore of his native Oahu. I got to meet the man himself and it really got me stoked about spending some time in the water over the summer and trying to capture some wave images.  Over the summer, I had the opportunity to spend some time in the ocean.
